Brides, I hope you are all doing well and coping ok as we move into another week of COVID -19 lockdown. I know there will be brides out there who feel frustrated, saddened and overwhelmed at the thought of planning a wedding during these difficult times so I wanted to help you, by showing you new ways you can navigate this strange territory .
Remember, when all is said and done, you WILL be married and you can still enjoy the planning but you will have to get creative.
Use this time to reflect , research and get really specific about the style of bride you want to be. I want you to connect with designers that resonate with you, follow them on social platforms, admire their work and get to know their brand. Familiarizing yourself with bridal brands, means you will quickly and easily identify what you like and don't like.
Wedding dress designers and their stockists are incredibly talented and know what styles and fabrics work best for certain body shapes so now is the time to reach out and communicate ! Don't be afraid to ask questions, designers and boutiques will be happy to help you. My local stockist Victoria Ivy has been offering her brides incredible in house inspiration , owner Louise has been creating videos, trying dresses on in -store, helping her bride to envisage themselves wearing them .
For those brides that have already found 'the dream dress ' now's the perfect time to style your dress with the ultimate wedding accessory. Embrace and immerse yourself in an exciting project like accessory shopping online.
Continue to be inspired, creating a mood board on pinterest is a wonderful way to visualize your wedding and really refine all the little details. If you have had to postpone your wedding , you may have to think about seasonality, which may mean changing colour palettes. Moving your wedding from springtime to wintertime might mean changing your bouquets florals.
Pop a bottle of bubbling, invite your bridesmaids and enjoy a little virtual wedding planning together. Show your bridesmaids the dresses you’ve seen online, ask their opinions and have a little fun while you're there!
Thankfully the wedding industry is a wonderfully innovative place and designers have adapted in wonderful ways to offer brides access to inspiration and consultations so you can still carry on planning your wedding. Like me, there are lots of designers offering virtual zoom appointments so there has been no better time to go bespoke.I'm welcoming brides and opening my diary to hold virtual appointments , it's a beautiful process and a wonderful way to stay connected to that wedding dream from home!
I sincerely hope these ideas help you to keep styling and refining your wedding look during lockdown.
